This procedure looks for hemangioma(s), which are benign tumours within the liver. The procedure will take four-and-a-half hours.
A tube of blood will be taken from a vein in your arm, and the blood will then be labeled with a radioactive tracer and re-injected back into a vein. Images of your abdomen will be taken immediately following the injection and again four hours after the injection. You are free to leave between the first and second sets of images.
