* NOTE: Addiction Counselling Services Transferred from St. Mary’s to House of Friendship on June 1, 2018.
On May 31, 2018, St. Mary’s Counselling Services closed its doors after 29 years of providing outstanding and compassionate counselling for individuals and families experiencing difficulties with substance use, problem gambling or technology overuse. As of June 1, 2018, these counselling services have transferred to House of Friendship, which has provided excellent addiction treatment programs for many years.
This voluntary integration, supported by the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network, will meet current needs, while increasing the ability to address more complex and varied needs of our community. It will also provide smoother transitions between different levels of care.
St. Mary’s Counselling Service is confident that clients will receive the same high quality and caring service with House of Friendship, and will benefit from additional services offered by the House of Friendship team. The transition also opens up access to men, women and their families to addiction counselling services in Cambridge.
House of Friendship staff are reaching out to those who were actively receiving counselling services at St. Mary’s Counselling to help with the transition. Former program participants are welcome to call 519-742-8327, ext. 216 for more information.
Visit www.houseoffriendship.org for more information about the new counselling services being offered at House of Friendship, as well as the organization’s full range of addiction treatment services. Those seeking a referral to these services can call 1-844-437-3247 (here247).
