The implantable loop recorder is a small device which is implanted just under the skin of the chest to record the heart’s electrical activity. The device collects data about heart events over a long period of time, up to three years. This type of monitoring can help the team diagnose someone who is having infrequent symptoms or fainting or heart racing.
After your loop recorder is inserted, you will be referred to our Pacemaker Device Clinic for follow up monitoring and care. Click here to learn more about our Cardiac Clinics, including our Pacemaker Device Clinic.
