Dr. Kevin Smith will be stepping down as President & CEO, SJHS and Niagara Health (NH) effective May 21, 2018, after 23 years of distinguished service with St. Joseph’s Health System, and seven years with Niagara Health.
Dr. Smith has accepted the position of President and CEO, University Health Network. The annoucement, made by Mr. Brian Porter, Chair of the Board of Trustees at UHN, praised the many contributions to healthcare — provincially and nationally — made by Dr. Smith. “He has a long and distinguished career in Ontario’s healthcare system and currently is responsible for an academic health organization which spans the continuum of care. Given the breadth of services at UHN and our ambitions to work more closely with partners in the community, I am very pleased that he has agreed to take the helm at UHN,” Mr. Porter said.
