It’s official! Waterloo Region has spoken and voted St. Mary’s General Hospital the best hospital in the region. In The Record’s 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards, St. Mary’s was awarded Diamond, the highest possible ranking. This award is one of the most meaningful and indicative of the work that we do on a daily basis: our entire community had the chance to vote and they chose us.
This pandemic has been difficult on all health-care workers. Policies and standards have changed quickly alongside the landscape, but through it all our teams have maintained our quality of service with our patients and their families. It hasn’t been easy, but St. Mary’s has been up to the task.
Indeed, in many areas of patient satisfaction, we have maintained or improved a high standing. St. Mary’s consistently ranks at or above the provincial average in numerous categories, including overall ranking of the hospital and whether or not people would recommend the hospital to their family and friends. The latter, especially, is indicative of how people feel about us: when asked, “Would you want your loved ones to receive care at St. Mary’s,” an overwhelming majority—over 80%—answer yes.
We wanted to extend a huge congratulations to our entire team—every single person who works and volunteers at St. Mary’s helps make this hospital what it is. Thank you so much for your continued dedication to our community. And thank you, Waterloo Region, for this incredible vote of confidence.
Help us spread the word!
You’ve helped us achieve this incredible accomplishment, but you can help one step further. By sharing this news with your networks—including with people who may want to join our team—you can help us continue to build on our vision: Inspiring Excellence. Healthier Together.
We couldn’t have done it without you, and to continue providing this level of care to our community, we look to build on Strategic Priority #3, developing our team of today and the future. This will help us continue to meet the growing needs of our community.
