Outbreak Declared Over on 5th Floor (500 Medicine Unit)

In consultation with Region of Waterloo Public Health, St. Mary’s is declaring an end to the COVID-19 outbreak on our 5th Floor (500 Medicine Unit).

In total, the outbreak impacted 12 patients. We know how difficult this has been for our team members, patients and their families and we extend our utmost gratitude to everyone. Care Partner visits can resume with patients.

As a reminder:

• Visits can resume with patients but if you are sick, please stay home until you feel well.
• Please continue to be vigilant in your hand hygiene.
• Eating and drinking must only occur in designated break rooms and not at the patient's bedside
• Please refer to our Visitor and Care Partner Guidelines.
