St. Mary’s Regional Cardiac Care Centre is committed to meeting the ongoing needs of our cardiac patients by providing quality, compassionate care close to home.

Our Cardiac Clinics are conveniently located on the first floor of the hospital. For more information about our Cardiac Clinics please call Reception at 519-749-6938.

This clinic provides comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients who have been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. The services are provided by an interprofessional team and include medical evaluation, prescribed exercises, cardiac risk factor modification, education, counselling, behavioural interventions, and will emphasize healthy heart living.

Patient Experience Story – St. Mary’s Regional Cardiac Care Centre

The Arrhythmia Clinic at St. Mary’s General Hospital is located on the Main Floor within Cardio Diagnostics. This clinic is staffed by Cardiologists who specialize in Electrophysiology and a Nurse Practitioner. The clinic offers services to the community for consultation and follow up care regarding arrhythmia problems. All referrals to the Arrhythmia Clinic are reviewed by the Cardiologist and are booked into the clinic according to the acuity of the heart rhythm disorder. Some cardiac testing may be required before you are seen in the clinic such as an Echocardiogram or Holter monitor. For your appointment, please bring your health card and medications.

The Device Clinic follows patients with a variety of cardiac devices including implantable loop recorders (ILR), pacemakers (PPM) and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICD). The clinic is staffed by Cardiovascular Technologists (CVT) and a Registered Nurse (RN) who will check the device, ensure it is working properly and reprogram if needed. The clinic also provides post-procedure education and does remote monitoring as needed. The CVT or RN may arrange for you to see the Cardiologist or Nurse Practitioner if there is a concern with the device. For your appointment, please remember to bring your health card and medications.
