Pride Month
Throughout June, Waterloo Region and beyond celebrate the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Every month, every day, St. Mary's is committed to delivering equitable, inclusive and empowered care for every patient and ensuring safe spaces for our patients, team members and community.
At the core of our values and beliefs is a dedication to compassionate care that respects the dignity of all. These values are core to the Mission and legacy of our Founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph, and are reflected in the care and work we provide every day.
This year, St. Mary’s raised the Intersex-Inclusive Pride Progress Flag. The flag incorporates the intersex symbols that represent wholeness, unbrokenness and brings awareness to the challenges that this community has and continues to face.
We are continuing our work towards allyship and equitable healthcare for all that is inclusive and respects the voices of the 2SLGTBQ+ community—for those who access and provide healthcare services at St. Mary’s.
Everyone has the right to feel safe, seen, validated and protected, our language and actions matter.
There are many different resources in Waterloo Region for the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Please take a moment to educate yourself, show your support, and raise awareness for all.
Thanks to SPECTRUM for providing these videos to educate and help provide resources for all.
